So it's over now?
Hey girls -
I don't know if any of you still even check this, since Chloe and I aren't giving you four hours of free time to play on the computers each day, but just in case, I thought I'd take this opportunity to let all of you know that, as much fun as it is to be unemployed with money, I miss you guys and I hope you're all doing well.
Chloe was scheduled to safely land in New Zealand on Monday. I haven't heard from her but I trust she's just having too much fun in a new country with Clay to worry about checking her e-mail. Me, I haven't been more than an hour's drive out of Chattanooga since April but I think I'll hop in the car and go somewhere this weekend. That sounds like a good excuse to skip my friend's upcoming bridal shower :)
After the closing ceremony on Friday, someone asked me if I would be willing to teach another one next summer. I told them no because I knew I could never be lucky enough to get a group of girls as great as you guys were two years in a row.
Anyway, as I said, I hope you're all doing well, hope some of you are actually reading this and hope you don't miss me, Chloe and the academy too much. I know it sucks to spend so many days with a group of people and then have to abruptly say good-bye, but to quote Robert Frost, if I've learned anything about life, it's that it goes on....
Take care!
Love,
-Ash-

I'm wearing pants
I realize, now that I've typed the name of this blog, that it implies that I never wear pants, or any bottoms at all, for that matter. Just for clarification for anyone who might be reading this that doesn't know.....I do, as a general rule, wear skirts. I wore pants today for Robin, whom I promised to wear pants before this camp was over. Since I slept until 6:30 this morning and had to leave the house at 7, today seemed like a logical day to be wearing the aforementioned pants (granted they are sweat pants and Robin probably meant for me to wear jeans....)
Only three days after today....this went by FAST! Chloe and I went to The Echo this morning to look at the layout and it seems to be looking pretty good! We have to finish it by the end of the day and Chloe and I will go back through and put any kind of necessary finishing touches on it tonight. Tomorrow is copy editing, which I will openly admit sucks, but it must be done and the paper has to go to the printer by tomorrow afternoon in order to get it back by Friday.
You guys have done so great. Chloe and I have been very fortunate to have such a great group of girls to work with. Keep it up, and the unveiling of your newspaper will be Friday :)

Freaking Lookouts
Another day survived, ladies....sorry we didn't get to see the whole Lookouts game. Actually, I was really hot and I have a headache so I'm not totally sorry because I was ready to leave but still if you guys wanted to see the whole thing then it sucks (for you) that we had to leave.
Sorry you fell, Keera. It would have been much better if the mascot had fallen because he wouldn't have been able to get up, haha. I'm sure you're not hurt nearly as bad as your ego though but I'm still sorry that happened in front of all those people!
Next field trip is to the IMAX on Friday, assuming the bus gets here on time, of course.
REMEMBER THAT YOUR DEADLINE IS TOMORROW. I stand firm and will not be swayed by compliments trying to distract me from the fact that your stories aren't in.
Have a great night and I'll see you guys in the morning.
:)

If you guys lower those rollie-chairs one more time....
If I see one more person press the lever under their chair so that they drop suddenly in the middle of a guest speaker's discussion, then that person is going to lose rollie-chair privilages (spelling?) and have to sit in one of the old crappy chairs that isn't adjustable. I mean it!
Also, remember ladies, that your stories are due Wednesday. Yes, Wednesday. We will begin layout shortly thereafter....so we need you guys to be done with your stories ASAP.
Okay journal time is QUIET TIME and you all seem to have forgotten that so I'm going to go stand over you menacingly while you try to write. :)

Halfway over
Hey girls :)
Good behavior at the Times Free Press! I'm sorry about the video. Hope you guys forgive me and Chloe!
OKAY guys 6:30 tonight, Carter Street side of the Chattanooga Trade and Convetion Center. No use in getting there at 5:45 for the open bar because you girls can't drink, but, I state the obvious. PLEASE PLEASE write down my cell phone number, which is on the board, in case you can't find me or the group. I will be very upset if our group gets seperated and can't find each other.
We have some cool field trips lined up next week, ladies....have a good weekend and look forward to what we have planned! Great work on your stories so far!

I'm scared of this...
Hey guys. I promised to make a blog so you guys could talk to me .... so here it is. I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing just yet but this is a box and I'm typing in it so how bad could I really be screwing this up?
Okay, which one of you girls is BabyGirl? Yesterday you made a blog with the title "It's all about me," which is MY LINE and it was stolen! I have that bumper sticker. I know it's not REALLY all about me, but hey, it should be :)
-Ashley
PS Hope you guys enjoyed the microwave because now I'm going to be without mine at home until the end of the month!
